Adaptation Futures Climate Conference 2025
Adaptation Futures, the world’s premier climate adaptation conference, is the flagship event of the United Nations World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP). It enables practitioners, policy makers, researchers, thought leaders and academics from across the globe to gather to collaborate and inspire urgent efforts to accelerate adaptation for a more resilient climate and fairer future.
The Priority Comms team was delighted to lead the communications and media for this historic global event, working closely alongside the conference organisers, scientific committee, and sponsors.
What we did
Our work leading up to and during the Adaptation Futures’ conference involved strategic stakeholder engagement with international sponsors and event partners; liaison with national and international media; targeted advertising; designing marketing collateral and digital assets for social media, newsletters, the conference website and more; management of social media accounts on LinkedIn and Bluesky; and coordinating of high-quality photography and videography.
During the conference, we ran the media hub, organising high profile speakers for morning media briefings with reporters, coordinating interviews and producing and distributing daily media releases, monitoring coverage and making sure the members of the media attending the conference in person or online had everything they needed to cover the event.
We shared the important Adaptation Futures’ story with the world through our strong media relationships and social media expertise. We were also tasked with ensuring enough scientists and climate professionals registered to share their work across the many different conference themes, resulting in the largest programme in the conference’s history, with more than 450 presentations and workshops taking place for the 1800+ attendees from more than 80 different countries.
Increased media interest in the conference and climate adaptation continued long after things wrapped up.
